Swim With Sharks In Hawaii

Shark diving in Hawaii is among the best in the world. So if you are planning to visit Hawaii, you can go on a trip and meet sharks. Something you will never forget.

Hawaii is actually 132 islands; including the larger islands Maui and Oahu, which has the best shark diving. The islands are located 2400 miles from the continent, which gives it a unique underwater environment.

The water around Hawaii is home for about 40 different shark species. The most common are Reef Whitetip Sharks, Sandbar Sharks and Scalloped Hammerhead Shark. In rare occasions it is also possible to encounter Tigers Sharks and even Whale Sharks.

The water has a beautiful cobalt blue color and the visibility is approximately 200 feet, which is better than most other places in the world. Diving in Hawaii is like diving in Paradise.

If you want to try an adrenalin-pumping activity, you should try shark cage diving (or more accurate shark cage swimming).

You can do a shark cage dive (or swim) near Oahu. The floating cage is placed in the water and you and up to three other persons can now swim inside the cage and encounter sharks at a very close range.

So if you are on vacation in Oahu, and you have never tried a shark cage dive, you should go. When will you ever get the chance again to get a close encounter with a shark?

Another great place for diving is Maui, which actually is considered one of the top diving destinations in the world. There is a lot of diving possibilities here, including reef diving and diving near volcanic craters.

But the most exciting encounter is certainly the amazing (and very huge) Whale Shark. You cannot expect to see them on every dive trip, because they are pretty rare. But if you are lucky, you can see them when you are diving or snorkeling.

Another and easier option is shark diving in the aquarium Maui Ocean Center. Here you can dive in the 750,000 gallon fish tanks, where you can see 20 sharks, stingrays and thousands of tropical reef fish.

So if you want to dive with sharks in an aquarium or in the ocean, Maui or Oahu is the places to go.
