Outside Basketball Courts
Is basketball your favorite sport? Then you may be carrying that long time wish of having your own outside basketball courts right in the backyard of your own home. This is for you to be able to play anytime that you feel like enjoying favorite sport.
Measuring the lawn is the first step that you need to take in building your very own outside basketball courts. This is fairly important for you need to fit the size of your court with the measure of the space you have allotted. If you happen to have a big space to work on, then much better. You can surely create a full basketball court. You can ask your friends to help you out with this task.
Next step that you can do is to check the kind of ground that you will create your own outside basketball courts. This is to make sure that you have the ground levelled already. Unleveled ground can affect how you play and may even cause accidents.
To prepare the hole where you will place the pole is the third step. Just make sure that the diameter of it will be three times more than the diameter of the post. Dig up to about 14 to 15 inches deep for you to be ensured of the pole’s stability.
Fourth important step is to place some gravel inside the hole. You must fill it up to around 6 to 8 inches. Level it up before placing the pole. Gravel plays a very important role especially for the hole’s drainage.
Fifth, use a dry concrete mix, which can be bought in material stores, to fill the hole’s space, leaving only a three or four-inch space from the top. Again, level out the concrete mix in order to be sure that the pole will be stable in place.
Lastly, you may add water to the mix and put in some soil too that has been taken out before sealing the hole again. Just do not forget to read and follow the guide for the use of the concrete mix which is stated in the package. Then you just simply have to wait for everything to completely dry up.
By this time, you can already start playing with your friends in your very own outside basketball courts. This is a great way to spend time with your loved ones too and serve as solid bonding time with friends. Instead of just watching your favorite sport on TV, you can do your own basketball moves in the comfort of your own home and get to practice frequently too.
