Crossbows Verses The Long Bow
During the medieval period the long bow often came up against the crossbows in battle. The long bows primary advantage was its high rate of shot. A trained archer could easily loose ten to twelve arrows in a minute. In contrast although much slower to load and shoot the crossbow did not require the same level of physical strength and skill to shoot.
